WP8 - Training

Objectives
PALETTE aims at having different kinds of actors work together to build, share, publish knowledge about Communities of Practice and uses of web services, and to develop interoperable web services for Communities of Practice.

PALETTE actors have decided to work on a participatory basis. Training is one key participatory activity which enables PALETTE actors building new knowledge and practices and sharing them among themselves and with external communities

WP8 aims more specifically at gathering, supporting and delivering learning resources at three levels
  • internally, between partners, by building common knowledge about web services and their uses on one hand, and about creating, sustaining and developing Communities of Practice on the other hand,
  • with PALETTE Communities of Practice, by providing them with learning resources and coaching facilities in order to better develop themselves and integrate new web services uses,
  • more broadly by integrating PALETTE developments and findings in already existing or newly developed programs among partners.

All the training resources produced within Palette will be available online through a dedicated learning management system. A direct access to this LMS will be provided here in the near future.

Documents and Deliverables
Besides the training resources, the WP8 issues two main productions:
  • PALETTE TRAINING CATALOG
The Palette training catalog gives the extensive list of training activities performed in the framework of the project.

A first version has been submitted in July 2007 (D.TRA.01)  and  the final one will be available in July 2008.

  • Concept and design for PALETTE AWARENESS SEMINARS
This document presents the main concepts and pedagogical scenarios - including framework for evaluation of the learning process - developed for awareness seminars (D.TRA.02)

Produced in August 2007.

  • Strategy for external training
This document explains the strategy proposed by the PALETTE partners relative to external training activities (D.TRA.03)

Produced in March 2008.

This document describes the main strategic implementation of the external training policy of the PALETTE project, i.e. the PALETTE-PROLEARN Summer School held in Ohrid (Republic of Macedonia) in June 2008. The document presents the finalisation of the organisation, the unrolling of the Summer School, the valuation and the direct outputs of the Summer School. It also analyses the cross fertilisation between the TEL community and the PALETTE community which occurred during the Summer School.
Produced in January 2009.

Meetings
The WP8 members meet regularly online. Face-to-face meetings are either held within general meetings of the project or when required for specific tasks.

Training seminars gather and offer the opportunity to the mediators and validators of PALETTE's CoPs, members of CoPs, developers and pedagogical partners to concretely live the PALETTE participatory design approach in a faithful way to what is envisioned in the PALETTE project
